KUCHING: Police are working closely with the Kuching City South Council (MBKS) to curb traffic congestions in the city, especially along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway.

Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah said police will enforce four initiatives to alleviate traffic congestion especially at Jalan Setia Raja roundabout and surrounding areas.

He pointed out that among the four initiatives were the deployment of additional traffic police during peak hours, scheduled from 6am to 10am for morning sessions and 4pm to 7pm for the evening sessions.

“Police patrols will be seen making rounds around that area during rush hours,” he said in a statement yesterday (Jan 5).

He appealed to all motorists to be patient and abide by all traffic rules for their safety.

The public may contact the IPD Kuching hotline at 082-244444 for any assistance.
