BAU: A boy with a disability failed to return home after he exited through his home’s backdoor in Kampung Bunga Rampai in Jalan Batu Kitang at 2.30pm yesterday (April 14).
The state Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba) was alerted to a call by the police on the same day at 9.13pm regarding a missing 7-year-old boy.
Seven firemen from Bau station were despatched to look for the boy.
Upon arrival, a search was immediately conducted with the police around the boy’s house.
According to witnesses, they saw a boy in red with diapers on but without slippers walking towards a jungle located behind the boy’s home.
Villagers and the boy’s family members have been looking for him two kilometres from the scene of the incident.
The search and rescue (SAR) operation ended at 10.40pm and will continue today (April 15).
