Tellian Youth PBB members repair the surface floor of the jetty.

MUKAH: Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine has called on the people to use proper channels to bring up complaints and issues and not resort to social media.

“Make the complaint through the proper channel and I believe it will be solved in a good way,” he said adding that people will be patient in the meantime.

He said this when asked by Suara Sarawak on the repairing of the fishermen’s jetty that was reported by the residents as dilapidated previously.

Recently, a team consisting of Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) Tellian Youth led by its deputy secretary Ahmad Abdul Hamid, assisted by the local fishing community repaired the floor of the fishing jetty in front of Mukah wet market.

It took them about one hour to complete repair work but Royston stated that, the action taken by the PBB Youth was not as a response to the issue going viral on Facebook earlier.

He said the Tellian Youth PBB had made already made plans to repair the jetty after the king tide last year damaged it.

“But due to the unpredictable weather, and the short supply of the raw materials such as belian wood, works to repair the jetty were delayed,” he said, thanking the PBB Tellian Youth and the local fishing community for teaming up to get it done.
