KUCHING: In this Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, the people have been advised not to forget the poor, disabled, orphans, single mothers and senior citizens who need help as to share the joy of the celebration.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that the joy of Aidilfitri celebration should be reflected in the faces of all, regardless of ranks and positions.

He then said that this year’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration will definitely be a relief to all Muslims in the state.

“After two years of struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs), we have been given some leeway after our country enters into transition to the endemic phase effective April 1.

“I am confident that this opportunity will take us back to our hometown to visit our family members, relatives and friends who have been separated for a long time.

“However, to those who will be returning to their hometowns, I hope that we will all always be vigilant on the way back, and always remember that our family members are awaiting for our safe return,” he said in Hari Raya Aidilfitri message.

He added although there is flexibility on the SOPSs, the people are reminded that the battle against COVID-19 has yet not been won yet and therefore they must adhere to the SOPs for the festival celebrations.

“May we all continue to remain united, enjoy the peace and may we always be safe and under the protection of Allah S.W.T.”

Meanwhile, Awang Tengah will also be having his open house at Hotel Seri Malaysia in Lawas on the third day of Hari Raya from 9am to 4pm.
