Drains in Everbright Estate being cleared, improved

KUCHING : SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by residents of Jalan Ketitir, Everbright Estate, Batu Kawa during his regular “turun padang” (going to the ground) activity to the area with SUPP members from Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Prof Sim Kui Hian’s service team.

The residents had complained that the poor drainage system was impeeding the smooth flow of rain water in their housing estate and had requested for the drains to be cleared, repaired and improved to prevent flash flooding with the approaching rainy season.

Following the request for assistance, Wilfred Yap and other SUPP members had gone to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to quickly solve the problem.

The matter was immediately brought up to the attention of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP). SUPP PCB chief, Wilfred Yap has been informed by MPP that they have instructed their contractor to carry the drain clearing and improvement works at Everbright Estate.

Wilfred Yap will continue to follow up and monitor the clearing and improvement works on the drains until all the works are completed by the appointed contractor to the satisfaction of all parties.
