DALAT: Police here together with the National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA) Mukah branch managed to arrest a local man after he was tested positive for drugs last Wednesday (Sept 21).
The integrated operation involving 11 personnel from Dalat police headquarters (IPD) and NADA Mukah branch, took place at KM6, Jalan Oya-Mukah.
During the two-hour operation, the authorities managed to arrest a man after he was tested positive for cannabis.
He was detained under Section 3(1) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983
Other than that, a total of 50 vehicles were inspected and of the figure, five traffic summonses were issued for various traffic offences.
Police said the operation was conducted to prevent crimes aside from checking offences related to drug abuse activities involving road users and road rule violations committed by road users.
The public are advised to distance themselves from drug abuse activities and always abide to the road rules.
