MUKAH: A ‘One-stop Committee to Address Drugs and Substance Abuse (OSC MIDS)’ programme was held at Dewan Suarah Mukah last Tuesday.

It was aimed at providing detailed information on awareness of and deterrence pertaining to drug abuse and drugs-related law enforcement.

It was attended by more than 280 participants comprising of community leaders, JKKK members, university/college students, association members, mosque committee members and church representatives from all around here.

Sharing sessions and talks were held from 8am to 5pm.

The talks were presented by Mukah police, National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada) Sarawak, State Department of Education and the Customs Department.

The participants were informed about current drug-related issues and the areas affected especially villages.

They were also told that they could contribute to a research carried out by the Sarawak Social Development Database coordinated by the Social Development Council of Sarawak.
