KUALA LUMPUR: Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) has embarked on a massive rebranding exercise to position itself as a premier agency that promotes Malaysia as a leading education destination.

As the Education Ministry infused EMGS with talents from public and private sectors, it has led a transformation in the internationalisation of Malaysia’s higher education, focusing more on digital marketing, branding and expanding networks.

EMGS has shifted towards evidence-based policy-making which will be more inclusive to all stakeholders and focus on collaboration, effectiveness, quality and long-term partnerships, in line with the education minister’s vision.

It includes rebranding Malaysia as a leading education destination; adopting a diverse marketing strategy with active participation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs); unveiling new digital marketing plan to complement Malaysia’s presence abroad; and, strengthening collaboration with education agents and other third parties.

EMGS will also focus on introducing new technologies and innovation, including the use of artificial intelligence to capture opportunities presented by the fourth industrial revolution.
