Employers urged to submit name list for vaccination

KUCHING: Employers in the service, hospitality, construction, manufacturing and plantation sectors are urged to register their employees for the Covid-19 vaccination programme before April 12, 2021.

This was the latest directive issued by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Saturday (Mar 27).

It said the employers of the above-mentioned sectors must submit the name list of their employees at the nearest Divisional Resident’s Offices.

The first phase of the state’s Covid-19 vaccine immunisation programme rolled out on Feb 26.

In the first phase of the state’s vaccination programme, a total of 97,161 frontliners are expected to be inoculated.

The second and third phases will inoculate 929,435 people in high-risk groups (second phase) and another 992,834 who are above the age of 18 (third phase)

Meanwhile, SDMC said that 278 cases have recovered and were discharged from hospital as of Saturday (Mar 27) with 114 from Miri Hospital, Bintulu Hospital (53), Sibu Hospital (48), Sarawak General Hospital (26), Covid-19 Low Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) under Kapit Hospital (14), PKRC Betong (10), Sarikei Hospital (six), PKRC Sri Aman (four), PKRC Lawas (two), and PKRC Mukah (one).

The committee said this brings the total recoveries and discharged cases to 12,629 people or 81.78 percent of the total cases in Sarawak.
