He said this during a PTPTN roadshow held at Commerce Square Mall here yesterday.

Wan Saiful disclosed that Bintulu and Baram areas accounted for 20,797 accounts with deposit amounting to RM25.89 million.

He said as of July 31, this year, a total of 4.2 million SSPN accounts have been opened, with savings totalling RM5 billion.

“SSPN was designed especially by the PTPTN as a prerequisite to apply for (PTPTN) study loan to ensure students are able to pursue their studies at institutions of higher learning,” he said.

He added this is crucial to ensure that more Malaysians have access to higher education.
