IT is every Sarawakian’s duty to ensure that Sarawak is united and prosperous, says Gerald Rentap Jabu.

Sarawak’s resources were bountiful, her human capital capable, and her rights must be protected at all times, added the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth chief.

“As I travel frequently to Betong via the under-construction Pan Borneo Highway, a sense of relief and accomplishment fills me as my vehicle travels smoothly on the few kilometres of straight and smooth stretches of double lane road.

“Imagine how this vast improvement of our infrastructure will change the socioeconomic landscape of Sarawak,” he said in his Sarawak Day message.

The Layar assemblyman said with mobility, more economic opportunities would come about.

“In addition, other improvements like digital connectivity will also enhance modernisation of agriculture, e-commerce and delivery of goods and services.”

“This is where opportunities are abound for our youths and the world market is their platform to compete.

“For Sarawakians to take full advantage, there must be unity, political and economic stability,” he stressed.

He added this had been the vision and aspiration of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government led by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“We can only look forward to a better future and there must not be any division between the urban and rural populace.

“Happy Sarawak Day. Together we make Sarawak greater. Sarawak First!”
