Abdul Karim also took the opportunity to invite members of the public to attend the three-day festival to enjoy the various events and film screenings which are free at the Old Courthouse.

Festival director Livan Tajang said in a statement that the AIFFA management’s decision to invite Rain as the special AIFFA 2023 guest was based on his phenomenal talent as portrayed through the creative industry and performing arts which has also helped attract millions of visitors to South Korea and create an interest globally for all things Korean.

“He has worked in films in South Korea and also for Hollywood. He is also known for his philanthropy work and has performed and put together many events and concerts for various charitable causes,” she said.

Livan also said many Asean movie stars and film directors will also be attending as they are vying for the AIFFA awards and has invited those who are interested in films to attend the festival as most of the activities are open to the public and are free of charge.
