KANOWIT: Police have detained two men, aged 44 and 55, following an argument over alleged extramarital affair with the wife of the younger man.

District police chief DSP Tega Bilong said both men were arrested around 10pm last Thursday after the older man lodged a police report that the younger man had threatened to shoot him (older man) for having an affair with his wife.

Investigations found that while the complainant (older man) was on his way home at Nanga Bat around 5pm, a car suddenly pulled up in front of his motorcycle.

“The complainant got scared and quickly ran away. At the same time, the complainant received a voice message from the man’s wife that her husband was going to shoot him.

“The 45-year-old man suspected that the older man was having an affair with his wife while he was working in the Solomon Island,” Tega said.

Tega added that the suspect borrowed a homemade shotgun from his friend for the purpose of threatening the complainant.
