Professor Ir Dr Al-Khalid Othman launched the closing gimmick of Faca Fest 2024.

KOTA SAMARAHAN: FACA Fest 2024 is seen as a platform that can develop the skills of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) students.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs), Professor Dr. Al-Khalid Othman, said the growth of FACA Fest is considered significant for teaching and learning on campus.

“For instance, during the pandemic, our students’ talent and event management skills were put to the test, and even though it was conducted virtually, it was deemed a success.

“Obviously, FACA Fest has become a good platform that has provided skills and experiences that cannot be obtained in the classroom,” he said at the closing of FACA Fest 2024 here on Sunday.

FACA Fest is an annual event held since 2018 for Year 2 Semester 1 Art Management students in the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts.

The event applies the concept of Project Based Learning (PBL), where students will do practical learning in collaboration with industry outside on a large scale.
