KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has commended officers and staff from the State Financial Secretary’s Office for taking steps to strengthen their efficiency and delivery system.

In stating this, he said they were facilitating  the realisation of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).

He added that among others, the office had obtained the MS ISO 9001 certification in 2021.

“The office has initiated its revenue re-engineering to seek new income sources to increase state revenue,” he said at its excellence service award presentation ceremony cum farewell  gathering to retiring officers and those on transfer to other agencies last night (Oct 29).

He said their total commitment, dedication, close cooperation, and work culture in the public sector financial management had allowed Sarawak to register a revenue of RM12 billion last year.

He noted that for 21 consecutive years from 2002, Sarawak too had obtained the ‘Sijil Bersih’ from the National Auditor-General which was another great achievement.
