SIBU: Fire razed two double-storey semi-detached houses in Jalan Cherry, Taman Heng Hua, here on Wednesday morning (Sept 1).
State Fire and Rescue Department operation centre said one of the houses was almost completely burned down while the adjoining house was only slightly damaged.
It said a distress call on the incident was received at 11.02am and firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The firemen quickly brought the blaze under control and the fire was fully extinguished at 12.57pm.
The houses were inhabited by two families, each comprising three persons.
There were no reports of injuries in the incident. The cause of the fire and the estimated losses have yet to be ascertained.
