SIBU: Daesco Hypermarket here yesterday presented shopping vouchers to 35 members of the Sibu Spinal Cord Injury Association.

The vouchers were presented by Kapitan Connie Loh, who represented Dudong assemblyman Datuk Tiong Thai King.

Speaking at the function, Loh said everyone faced various problems or challenges in their daily lives.

“Some give up easily, while some hide away from their problems and refuse to face them. But compared to members of the Spinal Cord Injury Association, a lot of problems that they face are relatively incomparable.

“Hence, we need to treasure what we have in our lives and learn to be grateful, complain less, work hard and always have a positive attitude.

“We must also learn to give back to society and be willing to help so that together we can build a loving society,” Loh pointed out.

According to her, it is heartening to learn that there is a group of people out there who care about the well-being of members of the Spinal Cord Injury Association and who have, over the years, been supporting them.

Thus, she hoped that the event would allow more people to know about the association and its needs, and hopefully receive more support.
