KUCHING: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has announced that business hours in Kuching, Samarahan and Serian will be fixed from 6am to 10pm.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the directive was decided in a meeting today (Jul 27) and will take effect from August 1 to 14.

“Therefore, the government calls on the people of Sarawak to cooperate with this matter.

“We understand that the strategy implemented is causing difficulties and pressure to some parties,” he said when delivering SDMC’s daily Covid-19 update.

He added that all strategies should be taken into consideration in the effort to combat the increase in Covid-19 cases.

“This is also to flatten the curve of Covid-19 cases in the state. For that, we need cooperation from all parties.

“We also hope that with this strategy, we will win the war against Covid-19 within the 14 days that have been set,” he said.
