KUCHING: A father was arrested by police yesterday for abusing his daughter in a house at Lorong 4, Taman Matang Ville.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said a report on the incident was lodged on Mar 21.

The complainant, the man’s daughter and a student, lodged the police report after she was brutally beaten up by her father who is a retired army personnel.

Aidil stated that on the day of the incident (Mar 21) around 8am, the complainant woke up from her sleep to hear her father complaining.

“The girl reprimanded her father for making noises and he went on to utter blasphemous words before beating her with his hands and feet.

“There was a struggle before the complainant threw an ashtray at her father in self-defense. The father responded by throwing cat faeces at her,” he said, adding that such incidents often occurred at home.

As a result, he said, the complainant experienced pains on her arm and right shoulder as well as scratches on the right calf.

“During questioning, the man admitted throwing cat faeces at his daughter but did not admit beating her.

“The incident happened because the complainant got mad at her father for making noises,” he said.

Aidil said the man, who had a past record under Section 4b(a) Open House Gambling Act 1953, was arrested yesterday under Section 324/506 of the Penal Code.
