TANJUNG MANIS: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) has spent 36 hours trying to extinguish forest and bush fires involving over 300 acres in Kampung Sedi here, since four days ago.

Tanjung Manis Bomba station acting chief Majedi Tinggal said his team was dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 4.52pm on Aug 7. The operation is being carried out in shifts.

“We are facing a shortage of water and the water source is too far. The fire spreads fast due to the changing wind. The size of the area is also large.
