KUCHING: The First Malaysian Infantry Division has deported four Indonesian nationals who were found to be undocumented and had illegally entered the country under the AWAS/KERIS PARANG operation.

According to a media statement issued today, the operation took place at Pos Batu Kaya, approximately 100 metres from the Malaysian-Indonesian border.

“The personnel conducting patrols around the Batu Kaya sector detected the suspicious movement of four individuals crossing the border from Indonesia into Malaysia.

“Following their arrest, an examination revealed that all four individuals, aged between 20 and 48, did not possess valid passports or work permits for Malaysia and had entered the country through an unauthorised route.

“Upon further investigation, it was determined that the individuals were not carrying any contraband items. The total value of their belongings, which included mobile phones and cash, was estimated to be RM2,860,” it said.

The deportation of the four individuals was carried out by the headquarters of the First Infantry Division on the same day.
