SARATOK: Two sexagenarians were among four individuals who were left injured after the car they were in, skidded and crashed into a ditch at Mudong junction, Jalan Saratok-Sarikei yesterday.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received an emergency call around 2.30 pm pertaining to the accident.
Firemen from Saratok station were then deployed to the scene, some 25km from the station.
Upon arrival, the team found that the victims aged between 35 and 68, were rescued out of the vehicle by Sungai Ruan auxiliary firefighters.
All of them were administered first aid at the scene before being taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately made known by authorities.
The team wrapped up the operation around 3.30 pm after ensuring that the situation was safe.
