Four slapped with compounds for defying SOPs

KUCHING: Police have issued a total of four compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Kota Samarahan recorded two compounds, and one each in Bau and Betong.

Apart from that, the Ministry of Local Government issued 67 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.

On the SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams have inspected 1,317 premises throughout Sarawak.

These include 279 restaurants, supermarkets (184), banks (116), places of worship (61), public markets (56), leisure places (36), government offices (33), hawker stalls (24), construction sites (21), factories (17), and others (490).

Under Ops Benteng, a total of 1,942 vehicles were inspected through seven roadblocks in six districts – two in Lawas, and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
