BALINGIAN: The Balingian branch of the Malaysian Islamic Welfare Organisation (PERKIM) held a free “bubur lambuk” (savoury porridge) programme for the public at the Balingian Ramadan Bazaar site at the old market here.

Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi today (March 31). officiated at the event, held in conjunction with the opening ceremony of ten booths

The president of the Balingian Brotherhood, Nurulamizan Madeli, received the porridge from Abdul Yakub.

Abdul Yakub was accompanied by the PERKIM Balingian branch chairman Fatimah Narawi.

Nurulamizan also congratulated Abdul Yakub on his appointment as a councillor for the Dalat and Mukah District Council and hoped that he would contribute ideas and serve the district.

During the event, the Balingian Brotherhood’s president and vice president also presented official club t-shirts to Abdul Yakub and his special officer Che Ghazali Arbi.

The Balingian Ramadan Bazaar, which was organised by the Mukah and Dalat District Council (MDDMC), provided ten booths for vendors to operate throughout the month of Ramadan.
