KUCHING: There are no plans yet to improve facilities and access routes at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex at Biawak, Lundu.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala said this in response to Billy Sujang (GPS-Opar) at the DUN sitting today.

“However, the Sarawak government through various federal government agencies such as the Immigration Department and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department always carry out the responsibility of facilitating the movement of people and goods at the Biawak ICQS entrance.

Billy then posed a supplementary question asking what are the initiatives taken by the ministry, especially the government, to protect the safety of the people.

“We have all the enforcement agencies at the ICQS, we have got the immigration agencies, we have the police,
“These are all the enforcement agencies that are entrusted to prevent all illegal entries or any other undesirable activities across the border,” Gerawat explained.
