KUCHING: A 33-year-old single mother Nasrisa Narawi from Kampung Semariang Batu here recently received assistance from the Hope Place.

Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan, in a statement yesterday, said Nasrisa is staying with her mother, two daughters and a nephew and is the sole breadwinner of the family.

“She struggles to keep her family afloat everyday by working as a helper at a chicken rice stall. However, Nasrisa does not have a fixed income because her salary depends on the total sales of the stall.

“Therefore, her mother, who is also helping her to take care of her two children, tries to earn a side income by helping a friend to make biscuits during festive seasons,” he said, adding the family received some financial help from the Welfare Department, too.

Yesterday, Wan handed over some food items to the family.
