Governor breaks fast at UNIMAS

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar joined staff of the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) for a breaking-fast event held at the Pusat Islam Tun Abang Salahuddin (PITAS) in UNIMAS yesterday evening.

Wan Junaidi was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, at the Iftar Perdana.

At the event, the Governor presented Early Schooling Assistance contributions to 199 permanent Grade 18 employees and 4 Grade 18 contract employees with children under 18 years old.

He also distributed the Ihya’ Ramadan contribution to Surau Darul Bahagia, Kampung Tambirat Ulu, Surau Darul Azam, Kampung Lubok Ria Hilir, Surau Ar-Riyadh, Kampung Tanjung Apong, Surau Darul Furqan, Kampung Binyuk Baru, ⁠Surau Darul Iman, Taman Samarindah and ⁠Surau Darul Ukhwah, Taman Sri Tuan which are located in the vicinity of Kota Samarahan.

The Governor also participated in the Maghrib prayers with staff and UNIMAS students, followed by dinner, Isyak, and terawih prayers.

Among those present were UNIMAS Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit and chairman of the UNIMAS Board of Directors, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie.
