KUCHING: Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sarawak has received requests to organise programmes related to anti-corruption in both the private and government sectors.

Its director Mohd Zaki Hassan explained that the commission is open to work with the federal and state governments as well as private sectors to address and create awareness on corruption issue.

Zaki speaking to reporters after the hiking event.

“Hence, MACC Sarawak is trying to help the Sarawak government to create a culture that relates to integrity among civil servants. If there are any out-dated and inappropriate cultures, we will change it into one of integrity.

“And that is why requests for integrity programmes in both private and government sectors have increased, such as the organisational anti-corruption plan (OACP), corruption risk management and others,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after a MACC Sarawak hiking event with local reporters at the Bung Jagoi Heritage Centre in Bau on Saturday (Oct 24).

He further added that if there are any major corruption cases in Sarawak, it would normally be handled by the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.
