LIMBANG: The Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development (KPWKM) is continuing its efforts to empower women in terms of socio-economic aspects.

Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) chairwoman Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, said that the Wanita Bangkit @KPWKM Program is one of the initiatives aimed at improving the economic conditions of women and families.

“We at KPWKM and YKN don’t mind if the women we helped have a business license or not. What matters is that we start these businesses or give funding to help women. They are having a hard time because of COVID-19. Some have problems at home, and some lost their husbands. We want to help them and their families,” she said when launching the programme here recently.

Limbang MP Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang, and YKN CEO Nordina Haron were present at the event which was attended by 500 participants.

Nancy also said that a similar programme benefited 7,430 participants last year.
