BARAM: The fifth Sarawak Highland Folk Music and Dance Festival will be held from April 27 to 29 this year in Long Bedian, Apoh.

The festival is a joint effort between Telang Usan District Office, Long Bedian Sub-District Office, Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performance Arts and Long Bedian Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK).

It will feature a variety of cultural performances including dance and traditional music performances from Orang Ulu group such as Kayan, Kenyah, Kelabit and Penan.
Slated for three days, the festival is expected to be officiated at by the Tourism, Creative Industry and Performance Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

The festival serves as one event that attracts tourists to Long Bedian and a platform to introduce traditional music to the younger generation.
