BINTULU: The development master plan for the Jepak area is holistic and all parties will be given priority, especially the local residents, said the Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

He said the state government expects rapid growth for the Jepak area in the future, especially when the Jepak bridge is completed and other development projects are implemented.

“We see that this area has high potential to be developed as a satellite town.

“Our planning includes the restructuring of the infrastructure in the village, to build houses where there is priority need for the convenience of all,” he said when met by reporters during an engagement session with villagers at a community hall in Kampung Jepak today.

He assured that there will be holistic development in the Jepak area with the relocation of the Bintulu administration to Kampung Jepak.

Awang Tengah said the master plan will focus on village restructuring, residential housing projects as well as plans to improve the socio-economy of small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs).

When asked about the momentum of GPS campaigning on the third day, the Deputy Premier expressed satisfaction with the current planned activities so far.

“I am excited to participate in today’s programme, even though I know today is a working day but the people are willing to come and I enjoy it, we are like a family,” he said.

He said the programme planned for the campaign aimed at giving the local community greater understanding of the government development plans in Jepak.

“After this election we will start to implement the projects that have been planned, some have already been implemented and some have not,” he said.

He urged Jepak voters to stand firm behind GPS and vote for the candidate of the coalition party, Iskandar Turkee on Nov 4.

He said solid support and cooperation from voters is very important for the government to develop the community in Jepak.
