MIRI: Travellers from Malaya, Labuan and Sabah returning here, and whose residential addresses are in this district, will be issued home quarantine order by health officials, said Minister in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Sunday.

“The date and time for their day-two swab will be explained and written on the Quarantine Order document, and on the said day and time, they are to go to the designated swab centre (Miri Indoor Stadium) to get tested,” he explained.

He pointed out that their swabs will be taken by health personnel stationed at the stadium.

“The Miri Indoor Stadium has just been turned into a one-stop swab centre to cater for the influx of travellers who are required to undergo swab test on the second day of their arrival,” Lee said.

He pointed out that the Indoor Stadium has good parking facilities and ventilation for the general public.

“The stadium is convenient for the healthcare personnel to perform the swab with their personal protective equipment suits and the related safety aspects,” Lee explained.

He advised travellers to follow the appointment schedule promptly.

“Please wear 3-ply mask and adhere to the social distancing rules, once the swab procedure has been completed, they must return to their homes to continue the quarantine process,” he stressed.

The swab results will be informed to them via SMS Infoblast to their phone.

Once their result is received, they can come over to Miri Indoor Stadium to secure their Quarantine Release Order, if they are confirmed free of the Covid-19 virus.

Meanwhile, for travellers whose residential address is at Subis/Beluru/Marudi/Telang Usan, they will be admitted to government quarantine centre at designated hotels upon arrival in Miri.

“They will be transported to the quarantine centre and swab will be done on Day 2 there. Once the results is negative, they will be discharged to their respective homes with a Quarantine Release Order,” he said.
