MUKAH:  Sidek Nyah and his family, whose house at Sungai Pegei here collapsed early this month, will move to their new house by the end of the year when it is completed.

Their new house is being built at the same spot, thanks to the prompt action of Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo and the Sarawak government.

Yussibnosh explained that the house would be built under ‘Program Perumahan Rakyat Miskin Sarawak (PPRMS)’ at a cost of RM50,000 from the minor rural project (MRP) fund.

“Some building materials from the collapsed house which are still in good condition are being used also,” he said when officiating at the commencement of work on the house here yesterday.

He added the 20×30 house would have three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a toilet.

A representative from the house contractor (Syarikat Safana) revealed that work commenced last week and that the house would be completed in a month’s time if the weather was good.
