KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching has extended its support to Michael Guyang Ejir, 25, as he battles stage four nose cancer.

Diagnosed earlier this year in January, Michael’s health condition has taken a toll on his family, leaving his 24-year-old wife and three children without financial support.

To aid with his radiotherapy treatment fees, Michael received a one-off financial assistance of RM8,000 from mySalam, as per a statement on Thursday (Aug 10).

Furthermore, Hope Place has stepped in by providing the family with special milk supplements and food aid. Michael has also recently applied for social welfare aid to alleviate their financial burden.

Currently residing at his parents’ house in Kampung Tabuan Rabak, Siburan, Michael’s parents have become the sole income providers for the entire family.

Michael recounted that his cancer diagnosis caught him off guard, with the initial symptoms he experienced earlier this year being difficulties in breathing.

In the meantime, his wife has taken on the responsibility of caring not only for their children, aged two to eight, but also for her husband’s continuous care requirements.
