KUCHING: Hornbill Skyways has been awarded a significant contract from Petronas, signifying the trust and confidence placed in the capabilities and expertise of the Sarawak-owned general aviation company.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg commended Hornbill Skyways for achieving this remarkable feat, making them the first Sarawak-owned company to receive such a contract.

He praised the team for their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to professionalism and excellence in aviation.

“I would like to thank Petronas as this (contract) is usually awarded to non-Sarawakian companies.

“With Petronas operating in Sarawak, it is fair for them to provide opportunities and consider Sarawak’s interests,” Abang Johari said.

He made these remarks during the contract signing ceremony between Hornbill Skyways Sdn Bhd, Petronas, and its associated petroleum arrangement contractors (PACs) on Thursday (June 15).

The event also included the signing of a technical services agreement between Hornbill Skyways Sdn Bhd and HAS International Sdn Bhd.
