Ikan Tahai, Madu Kesirat can go for digital marketing

LIMBANG: Products in the State have the potential to reach the world market through digital marketing. Deputy Chief Minister Menteri Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan pointed out that Sarawak has numerous products which can compete in the world market. For this division, he said some of the products that can go for digital marketing are Ikan Tahai, Madu Kesirat and dried fish products.

Awang Tengah, who is also Mini s ter of Indus t r ial and Entrepreneur Development, was speaking while officiating at the E-commerce programme organised by the Ministry of Welfare, Community Well-Being, Women, Family and Child Development at the Limbang Civic Centre here, yesterday.

Also present were Batu Danau As semblyman Paulus Pal u Gumbang, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Welfare, Community Well-Being, Women, Family and Child Development Dr Saadiah Abdul Samat, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Razin Zaidei and Limbang Deputy Resident Selamat Jati Yanjah.

“Various government agencies have been formed to help entrepreneurs in marketing their products as well as to assist them in acquiring financial loans from Tekun, Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) and others.

“The State government is also committed to help entrepreneurs expand their business by making available various venues for them to trade. “We are not taking small and medium entrepreneurs lightly as these groups contribute almost 90% of the nation’s economy,” Awang Tengah stressed, adding that the government would focus on giving financial aids to small entreprenuers.
