KUCHING: The Malaysian Cooperative Institute (IKM) is embarking on a Program Turun Padang ke Arah Memasyarakatkan Koperasi (MasKop) to meet with cooperatives.

At the same time it intends to provide information on its human capital development programmes.

The programme seeks to encourage cooperatives to seize opportunities in terms of training, business and economy as well as relay information on assistance and support by agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives in achieving the National Entrepreneurship Policy (DKN) 2030 and Malaysian Cooperative Transformation Plan 2021 – 2025 (TransKoM).

According to IKM chairman Datuk Wira Dr Rosli Mat Hassan, MasKop is held in every state.

“We want to ensure the Sarawak government helps the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development, especially in terms of helping cooperatives throughout Sarawak,” he said here today (June 28).

In another development Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) Executive Chairman Zazali Haron, said the Cooperative Month celebration will be officiated on July 2.

“God willing, we have a target to prove the importance of cooperatives as a third sector in our economy,” he said.
