MUKAH: An immediate financial aid was given to a single mother whose house in Kampung Petanak here was damaged by strong wind last Saturday. The assistance was from Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo.
Lydia Qamarina Abdullah’s rooftop was blown off by strong wind which occurred at about 2.20pm.
According to Tellian constituency Service Centre Special Officer Felix Pieng the assistance was from a special fund allocated by Yussibnosh meant to assist people affected by disaster.
“The aid worth RM2,000 was channelled through the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), and subsequently used to finance the cost of repairing the rooftop undertaken through ‘gotong-royong’ on the same day,” he said last Saturday after the completion of the repair.
Felix, who represented Yussibnosh hoped that the 33-year-old victim and family could resume their normal life after the rooftop was repaired.
It is learned that the local Baitulmal Fund also handed over immediate assistance to the victim.
