Inaugural International Preschool Education Convention from Oct 1 to 3

KUCHING: The Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Ministry (KWKPK) will hold the inaugural International Preschool Education Convention from Oct 1 to 3.

Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said some 450 people would attend via Zoom while 50 would attend physically, at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

“The convention will also be closely supported by other government and private agencies, to elevate early childhood education as an important foundation in building excellent and quality human capital.

“The theme of is ‘Character Building in the New Norm’ and participants will attend virtually and physically, all according to standard operating procedures.

“The objectives of the convention are to improve educator knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of human characters in children as well as identify challenges in shaping the human characters, talents, interests, and the potential of children during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It’s also to improve educator skills in the new norm, cultivating and nurturing the spiritual, social, physical and emotional development of children.”

On another note, she also said that three speakers would present proposals on the post Covid recovery plan.

“The three speakers are Association of Kindergarten Operators Sarawak president Jason Kang, Registered Child Educators Association Sarawak president Ng Lee Boon, and Astana Kindergarten Miri educator Siti Hajijah Abdullah Sani.”
