JaPen conducts two-day community programme

KUCHING: The Kuching District Information Department (JaPen) recently conducted the Sepakat@Komuniti programme for two days to disseminate information to members of the public.

It said the programme was conducted at five locations here — 10th Mile Kota Padawan Market, Everwin Batu Kawah, Moyan Square, Kampung Tengah Sungai and Aeroville.

“We should follow what have been planned by the government, especially in the aspects of health because the public’s health is extremely important,” said Stevenson Chia Kim Fook, chairman of the Kota Padawan market vendors committee.

Meanwhile, one of Padawan Municipal Council enforcement officers said he supports how Sarawak has move forward into Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan as it enables the people to look for employment opportunities and generate income.

JaPen Kuching said majority of the hawkers expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the opening of the economy sector in stages as it encouraged economic growth in the country that was affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Overall, the programme received very encouraging response at every location. Members of the public have shown positive responses too. Also present was Kuching District JaPen officer Magdellina Alfred Jeho,” it added.
