KUCHING: Thirty sets of food baskets were distributed to the asnaf or needy of Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency in conjunction with the Jiwa Madani Programme.

According to Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) Sarawak deputy director Suwadi Guliling, the programme here was a strategic initiative by JAPEN Malaysia to aid the community in Kuching district.

“Aside from that, it also aims to strengthen relationships between the people and create positive ties between agencies and the community,” he said.

He said this when attending the Jiwa Madani Jalinan Kasih Ramadan programme at Kampung Gita Lama Surau here today.

In light of this, he pointed out that JAPEN, as an agency, bears the responsibility of providing explanations and disseminating information to the public, and as such, community engagement is crucial.

“This is essential to ensure that government aspirations are clearly communicated and to address ambiguous matters, especially in handling misinformation or unclear issues. For us here, we have consistently performed well in this regard.

“With that, I hope that programmes such as this will continue with the support of government agencies. We thank you for all the support given that leads to the success of our programme,” he said.
