Jogger dies after a motorcycle collided into him

The motorcycle that allegedly crashed into a jogger at Jalan Kampung Dagang. The jogger later died of his injuries.

TATAU: A jogger succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment after a motorcycle allegedly crashed into him at Jalan Kampung Dagang here Sunday (May 16).

The incident happened around 5.20am when the 36-year-old motorcyclist was travelling towards Tatau mosque.

Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the motorcyclist reportedly lost control of his bike and collided with the jogger.

“As a result, both men suffered injuries and were taken by the public to Tatau Health Clinic for immediate treatment.

“However, the jogger identified as Lim Siaw Hong, 59, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment,” he said.

The body was later taken to Bintulu Hospital Forensic Department for further action.

The motorcyclist suffered severe head injuries in the accident and was brought to Bintulu Hospital for further treatment.

Alexson said the case was being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death through reckless driving.
