MUARA TUANG: A superstars team, Kenyalang Warriors Rugby Club (KWRC) of the First Infantry Division (1 DIV) won champions’ title of the AKHDAN RNA League 2017 for the first time after three years of trying to beat the defending champions Warriors Rugby ORC Club with 23-15 in the final at Muara Tuang Camp rugby field, recently.
KWRC were the inaugural winners of AKHDAN RNA League, formerly known as Kuching KRFC Rugby League.
The team collected their first points in the 12th minute and continued to lead until the end of the first half.
Action continued to intensify in the second half and the Warriors, who appeared more energetic in collecting points, however, failed to prevent the KWRC to win the inaugural title and make them eligible to play in the President’s Cup.
With the success, KWRC added to their trophy collection after winning the Champion Cup Rugby Championship Touch 5-Side Y-Centre 2017 in May 2017 and Sibu Memorial Cup15s’ in April 2017.
