BINTULU: The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) Bintulu Branch has issued compound notices amounting to RM126,650 for various trade-related offences this year.
Branch chief Nazari Hassan said the total number of compounds was from 68 cases recorded from January 1 to December 15 this year.
During that period, he said enforcement officers have inspected a total of 5,244 premises in Bintulu with confiscation worth RM1,352,328.86.
Concerning the supply of essential goods for the festive season, Nazari asserted that regular inspections reported that the supply of such goods, particularly eggs, remained stable.
“Suppliers have a consistent supply of grade A, B, and C chicken eggs. Because the eggs put up for sale are usually quickly purchased by consumers, there is a quantity shortage” he said when contacted today.
However, Nazari pointed out that the lack of these three egg grades was offset by a sufficient supply of Omega and Selenium type eggs.
For complaints or inquiries, he advised the members of public to directly contact the KPDNHEP Bintulu office at 086-332176.
