SEBUYAU: Kampung Sungai Ladong here will soon be expanded with 29 acres of land to meet the needs of the village folk in the area, said Datuk Julaihi Narawi.

The Sebuyau assemblyman added that the village expansion scheme (SPK) was approved with a grant of RM17 million by the state government and the site has been identified by the Land and Survey Department.

“This scheme will help the villagers in issues such as congested housing. In accordance with this, we will also make a proper drainage system, facilities, and provide water and electricity at the new housing areas,” he stated during the thanksgiving ceremony of his victory in the just concluded state election and Sebuyau being elevated into a full district on Sunday (Jan 30).

Julaihi also urged the people to give their full support to the  relevant agencies to ensure the works that needed to be done run smoothly.

Meanwhile, he also mentioned that Gedong, Simunjan, Sadong Jaya, Asajaya, Samarahan, Sebuyau, and many more districts in Sarawak would soon receive further development with a network of roads and related facilities.

“This is what has been announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg himself. So the residents here in Sebuyau will need to be prepared for the upcoming developments.

“We cannot just sit and stare. We have to participate together (on the development) as it is for our own benefit.

“Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has its own clear agenda – to develop the rural areas. We will fulfill the promises and manifesto and turn (Sarawak) into a developed state in the near future,” he reiterated.
