KUCHING: Kuching FA striker Joseph Kallang Tie, 32 (pic), did not even think about the Golden Shoe award for the top scorer when the M3 League opened its campaign in mid-February.

Instead, the player from Long Ikang, Kuala Baram is more focused on helping the team, despite the fact that “scoring goals” is part of his effort.

After 128 days joining the squad, Joseph not only helped the team but emerged as the top scorer with nine goals so far.
“I’m more focused on the success of the team than thinking of the top scorer award.

“But I feel very happy if every one of my teammates will help the team,” Joseph said.

On Sunday afternoon, Joseph who entered the second half once again came to Kuching FA’s rescue by scoring the equaliser for a 1-1 draw against DDM at the KLFA Academy Stadium.

Despite not being fully fit for the match following a groin injury, it did not break Joseph’s spirit to play all out against DDM.
“The pain still lingers but our effort was worth it.

“We were supposed to go home with three points, but it was not to be.”  “Nevertheless, we still maintain an unbeaten record,” said the former Sarawak, Terengganu, Pahang and Selangor striker.

In the match played on the artificial grass, Kuching FA dominated the match and created five to six golden chances while DDM only created a chance.

Kuching FA should have scored four to five goals. However, coach, Ideris Untong said his men have played very well, just that they had no luck to win.

They will face FC Prison at the Sarawak Stadium this Saturday (8.15pm). On paper, Kuching FA are expected to collect three more points from the match.
