SIBU: Senator Robert Lau, who is also chairman of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Branch, has urged longhouse people in the constituency to support Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the coming state election.

He visited longhouses at Sungai Malangan and Sungai Along today.

He said the GPS state government has funded many rural projects to speed up development and standard of living of the people.

“Projects such as roads, bridges, treated water and electricity supplies are implemented at a fast pace,” he said.

He was accompanied by a political secretary to chief minister, Daniel Bujal, and councillors from Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC).

Lau inspected longhouse renovation projects under the federal Ministry of Housing and Local government and distributed forms to those who want to apply for renovation grants.

At the same time, Lau also distributed GPS flags to the people.
