KUCHING: A local man, suspected to be involved in drug abuse activities, was detained on Thursday morning (Nov 24) by police.
According to Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah, the man was arrested following an information relayed to the police.
He said the district’s Narcotic Criminal Investigation Department made the arrest at Jalan Setia Raja, Taman Stutong.
“The team made an inspection in the suspect’s bedroom and found one small transparent plastic packet which was suspected to be containing crystal methamphetamine weighing 0.56 gramme.
“Two more packets were found as well which weighed 156.45 gramme containing methamphetamine,” he said.
The suspect was also tested positive for the amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Ahsmon also said that the man has six prior cases related to drugs and it was estimated that the drugs are valued at RM15,645.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B, Section 12(2) and Section (15)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
