KUCHING: The main suspect in a job scam will be further remanded until April 30 to facilitate investigation.

Sarawak Commercial Crimes Investigation Department (CCID) head Supt Mustafa Kamal Gani Abdullah said the remand order was granted by Kuching Court assistant registrar Aida Montong yesterday.

The application was made under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to enable further investigation to be carried out by the police.

The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.

The 26-year-old suspect was arrested at the Kuching International Airport at 12.21pm on Thursday after he landed here from Pontianak, Indonesia.

Supt Mustafa added that the suspect was among six individuals arrested since the investigation into the case was conducted by the CCID.

So far a suspect has been charged in court while four others were released on police bail.

Last Dec 11, 47 Malaysians, including 40 Sarawakians, were detained in a raid by Cambodian authorities at two separate houses in Poipet, Banteay Mancheay, north of Phnom Penh.
