Low water pressure warning during plant upgrades

BINTULU: Several areas around the town here are expected to experience low water pressure due to the installation of new power cables at the Nyabau Water Treatment Plant.

The work is scheduled to take place on September 5 from midnight until 6 am.

LAKU Management Sdn. Bhd. (LAKU), in its statement, said that
the affected areas include Kidurong Club, Bintulu Airport, Bintulu Mosque, Bintulu Civic Centre (Bintulu Development Authority – BDA), PPR Bandaria Park, Bintulu Town area, Jepak area, Nyigu area, Kampung Baru, UPM Bintulu Campus, IKM, and ADTEC.

The schools and educational institutions involved are SMK Bintulu, SMK Bandar Bintulu, SMK Baru, SMKM Siong Boon, SMK Kemena, SJK ChungHua No.2, SJK Chung Hua, SJK Sebiew Chinese, SK Kampung Baru, SK  Bintulu, SK Kampung Jepak, SK Assyakirin, SK St. Anthony, SK Sungai Tisang dan SK Kem Batu 18.

The Rural Water Supply Department of Ulu Sebauh and Kuala Tatau will be affected.

All areas along Jalan Bintulu – Miri, Jalan Tun Hussain Onn, Jalan Bintulu- Sibu, Jalan Sibiyu, Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi, Jalan Kemena,Jalan Keppel, Jalan Abang Galau will also be affected.

“We advise users to store an adequate amount of water to meet their needs during the installation period. If weather conditions are unfavourable, maintenance work will be carried out on the next working day at the same time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and assure you that we will make every effort to minimise the disruption period,” said LAKU.
